C DORIAN SCALE
Today we will be looking at C Dorian scale. As we all know there are various type of scale. From the major to the minor, diminished, whole scale and It goes on like that. We will be looking at the Dorian scale in the key of C.
Now ‘C’ dorian scale is C,D,Eb,F,G,A,Bb,C. Now this scale will form as the foundation of our chords. Now we will be picking our chords by 4th from the scale. Starting with C. the fourth from C is F, the fourth from F is Bb. Now our first chord starting with C is CFBb. for D will be DGC, next is EbAD, FBbEb, GCF, ADG and BbEbA. These chords are to be played on your lefthand. CFBb/DGC/EbAD/FBbEb/GCF/ADG/BbEbA To bring out the beauty in this scale, we’ll spice it up with C pentatonic scale. C pentatonic scale is quite easy to learn (pentatonic means 5 notes). C pentatonic scale: C,Eb,F,G,Bb. Get familiarize with this scale.
